Drinking Water - from the Lake of Zürich
Lake Zürich is the main source of drinking water for the city and covers 70% of the city's water needs. Following considerable investment, a sophisticated tunnel system now connects the water treatment plants and reservoirs. Wastewater is dealt with by the 4000-km-long piping system and state-of-the art treatment plant.
