About the Department: The Mayor's Department provides a wide range of services.
Residents: The Residents' Office is responsible for registering, overseeing and managing personal data, the registration of changes in civil status as well as the organization of dignified funerals of deceased from various cultural backgrounds.
Cultural Affairs: The City of Zürich offers an extremely varied cultural program.
Urban Development
Gender Equality: The City of Zürich's Office for Gender Equality is responsible for equal opportunities.
Statistics Office: Zürich's Statistic Office collects and publishes statistical information from all areas of life including demographics, the economy, construction, residency and politics.
City Archives: Zürich's Archives Office looks after the archives of the City of Zürich.

For the city and its inhabitants

The local government of the city of Zurich is divided into nine departments. In May 2009, Corine Mauch was elected Mayor of the City of Zürich and Head of the Mayor’s Department, making her Zurich’s first female mayor.

The Mayor’s Department offers the city’s inhabitants, newcomers, visitors and tourists as well as companies domiciled or wishing to set up in Zurich a wide range of services.
