Address change

Please report your change of residence in person within 14 days after moving in the district office of the new residential district.

You also can report your change of residence comfortly via internet. This service is a pilot project and at the time only available for adress changes within the city of Zurich, for a limited group* of people and in german**.

For Swiss citizens we need:

• Certificate of registration or the week permit
• Military or civil defence ID book
• Apartment or rental ID

For foreign nationals, we need:

• Residence permit
• Passport (for EU/EFTA citizen we also accept a ID Card.
• Certificate of registration
• Apartment or rental ID

* You can use the online report services for address change if:

• You are an adult and not patronized
• You are not married or in a registered partnership and not living together with one or more children
• You dont have blocked you address at the district office.
• You can submit your change of address at least 2 weeks before and no later than 8 weeks after your move.
