The Mayor’s Department provides a wide range of services:
Its responsibilities and departments include on the one hand the civic services (births, deaths and marriages as well as residents’ registration), but also the Archives, the Statistics Office, the Cultural Affairs Office and the Office for Urban Development including City and Neighborhood Development, the Office for Cross-Cultural Issues, the Economic Development and the Office for Foreign Affairs.

The Mayor’s Department is also responsible for promoting economic and political interests in the city, both at home and abroad.

Also falling within the department’s remit are the coordination of affairs relating to foreign residents and the promotion of gender equality.
