For the last 30 years, Dominic and his colleagues have been developing successful new ways of arriving at liberatory ends through liberatory means.
Guided by the work of Marshall Rosenberg, their award-winning dialogical social systems have been applied in contexts as diverse as civil wars, school systems, environmental disasters, online communities, churches and government. Derivations of this work now inspire programs in over 50 countries.
Specifically this talk will focus on Restorative Circles - an approach to painful conflict that emerged from the gang-controlled favela shanty towns of Rio de Janeiro, entered the formal justice system in 2005 and has now spread to collectives and organisations - from families to government - worldwide.
The evening will be an illustrated talk, showing how different groups in diverse cultural contexts have created meaningful, effective ways to promote dialogue after harm.
We will look at how this work began, its application in daily life and how the first experiments in Switzerland are pointing towards possibilities here.
The presentation will be given in English.
