In the collection exhibition, the museum trail leads through the plains and prairies, the northeastern woodlands and the subarctic, up into the Arctic, along the northwest coast and down to the southwest of the USA. The exhibition gives an insight into the different living conditions, art and cultures of the respective areas - past and present.
Works by Karl Bodmer, a painter native to Zurich, are exhibited in the Bodmer Gallery.
In changing special exhibitions, NONAM takes up topics that provide insight into contemporary life in Indigenous North America. The museum is increasingly focusing on contemporary works and is committed to the promotion of Indigenous artists.
