The common items listed below are not recorded online and can only be searched for and picked up directly at the lost property office. They will be available for collection on the following day from 11 am at the lost property office at Werdmühlestrasse 10, 8001 Zurich.

Note on reporting: To ensure quick processing, it is important that you enter your item in the right category and describe it as accurately as possible.
Passports and identity cards
If you have lost your ID, please report it to the police immediately and present the police report when applying for a new ID. This also applies to expired ID cards. A lost ID card is invalid and has to be confiscated by the lost property office.

Have you lost an item on an VBZ or Forchbahn vehicle that you urgently need? For items that are needed in a hurry, we offer an express search for a surcharge.
The express service is available for the following items:
- Keys
- Vital medicine
- Items belonging to people who are travelling onwards the same day or early the next morning
- Laptops, tablets or meeting documents
- Mobile phones
If the item is found, an express surcharge of CHF 50.00 must be paid in addition to the ordinary fee when it is handed over.
The loss can be reported to the lost property office, ZVV-Contact and the employees of the network and the transport service.
If the item is not urgently needed, an online loss report can be filed. The lost property office will notify the customer as soon as the item has been found. Items can also be requested directly from the lost property office the following day from 11 a.m.
