If you book the classical ceremony, the ceremony room is reserved for you for 30 minutes. The ceremony itself takes about 15 minutes and takes place in a festive atmosphere. You can include a personal element such as vows or a poem (maximum 10 minutes). After the official part, you will have time to accept congratulations and take some photos.

Availability

From April to October, classical ceremonies at the city hall are available at the following times:

• Thursday, 14.00 - 16.00
• Friday, 10.00 - 11.30 and 14.00 - 17.30
• Saturday, 9.30 - 11.30 and 13.30 - 15.30

From November to March, classical ceremonies at the city hall are available at the following times:

• Thursday, 14.00 - 16.00
• Friday, 10.00 - 11.30 and 14.00 - 16:00
• Saturday, 9.30 - 11.30

We will accept the reservation for your ceremony online at the earliest 12 months in advance. After we receive your reservation, we will inform you about the further procedure. We are happy to advise you on the legal formalities, even if you have not pre-booked a date.

Language

We offer ceremonies in the following languages:

• Swiss German
• German
• English

If your marriage is not to take place in one of the languages we offer, the Zurich civil registry office will arrange for an interpreter. There will be an extra charge of CHF 300.-

Special requests

In a classical ceremony, you can include personal elements. Maybe you have written your own vows or one of your guests would like to share a few personal words or a poem.
