A course for women in German

In the course "Living in Zurich" you will learn important facts about social, legal and cultural topics. Together you will discuss everyday issues and make new contacts. The course is aimed at women whose first language is not German (from B1). The course can serve as preparation for naturalization.

  1. Introduction and orientation in the city 
  2. Typically Swiss"? From quadrilingual to multilingual Switzerland. Considerations for arrival in Switzerland
  3. Switzerland: Introduction to Geography, History and Politics.
  4. The canton and the city of Zurich: facts and figures, politics, law and administration.
  5. Participation in a city council meeting in the town hall (currently something else)
  6. The school and education system in the Canton of Zurich 1: From early childhood to primary school, childcare
  7. School and education system in the Canton of Zurich 2: secondary school, vocational training, vocational schools and universities
  8. Working in Switzerland, recognition of diplomas and job search
  9. Leisure and volunteer work in Zurich: Visit to a community centre
  10. Social security in Switzerland / Social insurance
  11. Finances
  12. Living and neighborhood living
  13. Waste and recycling: A visit to Hagenholz, the waste disposal facility
  14. Health and health insurance in Switzerland
  15. Historical tour of Zurich's Old Town: Who were the most important women in Zurich's history?
  16. Course evaluation and farewell party

Cost

CHF 60.- and CHF 30.- for childcare for participants living in the city of Zurich

CHF 20.- and CHF 10.- for childcare for participants living in the city of Zurich with cultural legacies

CHF 320.- and CHF 90.- for childcare for external guests 

Covid-19 measures:

According to the current situation, a Covid certificate (2G) and mask obligation is required to participate in the course.
