Industry

Small and commercially oriented companies have more development problems in Zurich than large, value-added companies. Although the tax revenue of commercially oriented companies is mostly low, these have a diverse significance for the city. They contribute to the revitalization and attractiveness of public space, increase the variety of offers and products and help to reduce shopping traffic due to their district supply. Furthermore, they offer an above-average number of apprenticeships and skilled jobs.

Trade is understood to mean micro and small enterprises with up to 49 employees, which are either public-oriented (gastronomy, retail, district-related services) or manufacturing (crafts, repair).
