For me, integration is a path that is taken in both directions. On the one hand, emigration means leaving one's roots behind without forgetting them, but it also means opening up a new place, getting to know new ways of thinking, questioning old self-evident facts. On the other hand, experiencing immigration also means facing new situations. Ideally, the host city and society are open to welcoming the immigrants and, in a way, accepting change and actively working to ensure that their integration is positive and satisfying. Flexibility and customization are therefore key concepts for integration.

My goal in the Foreigners' Advisory Council (ABR) is to promote the integration of immigrants in the city of Zurich. As we all know, there are still everyday situations where being a foreigner is an obstacle or a disadvantage compared to those who are not. That is why I would like to work towards equality of foreign persons through the ABR. You have to be aware that we make up a third of the population of Zurich and yet we still do not have the right to vote in the city where we live, work and pay taxes. The ABR allows me to give a voice to this immigrant part of the population. We are all part of a pluralistic and diverse society in which we have a responsibility to ensure that all foreigners living in Zurich feel integrated and included. In particular, as a member of the ABR, I want to promote understanding and the relationship between all actors, so that we ultimately live in mutual respect and equal opportunities in Zurich.

Per a mi la integració és un camí de doble sentit. D'una banda emigrar és deixar enrere les arrels, sense oblidar-les, però alhora és obrir-se pas cap a un lloc nou on aprens noves maneres de pensar i et qüestiones allò après amb anterioritat. D'altra banda, rebre immigració també comporta fer front a noves situacions. Idealment, la ciutat i la societat que acullen estan obertes a rebre persones nouvingudes, així com, en certa manera, a adaptar-se a canvis i a participar activament perquè la integració sigui positiva i satisfactòria. Flexibilitat i adaptació són, per tant, conceptes clau en el què es refereix a la integració.

El meu propòsit en el Consell Consultiu d'Estrangers i Estrangeres (ABR) és facilitar la integració d'aquest grup de persones nouvingudes a la ciutat de Zuric. Tots sabem que encara hi ha situacions en el dia a dia en què ser estranger suposa un impediment o una condició clarament desfavorable respecte a aquells que no ho són. És per això pel que, juntament amb els meus companys de l'ABR, treballo per a assolir la igualtat de condicions de tota persona nouvinguda. Recordem que tot i que suposem un terç dels habitants de Zuric, encara no tenim dret a vot a la ciutat on vivim, treballem i paguem impostos. L'ABR em permet donar veu a tot aquest sector de població immigrada. Cal fer esment que tots els habitants de Zuric formem part d'una societat plural i diversa en la que tenim la responsabilitat d'aconseguir que totes les persones estrangeres residents se sentin integrades i incloses. Especialment, i com a membre de l'ABR, vull facilitar l'enteniment i la relació entre tots els agents implicats perquè, al capdavall, tothom convisqui a Zuric amb respecte i igualtat de condicions.

Para mí la integración es un camino de doble sentido. Por un lado emigrar es dejar atrás las raíces, sin olvidarlas, pero a la vez es abrirse paso hacia un lugar nuevo donde aprendes nuevas maneras de pensar y te cuestionas lo aprendido en el pasado. Por otro lado, recibir inmigración también comporta hacer frente a nuevas situaciones. Idealmente, la ciudad y la sociedad que acogen están abiertas a recibir a las personas extranjeras, así como, en cierta manera, a adaptarse a cambios y a participar activamente para que la integración sea positiva y satisfactoria. Flexibilidad y adaptación son, por tanto, conceptos clave en lo referente a la integración.

Mi propósito en el Consejo Consultivo de Extranjeros y Extranjeras (Advisory Council for Foreigners, ABR) es facilitar la integración de los inmigrantes en la ciudad de Zúrich. Todos sabemos que aún hay situaciones en el día a día en las que ser extranjero supone un impedimento o una condición claramente desfavorable respecto a aquellos no lo son. Es por ello por lo que como miembro del ABR trabajo para conseguir la igualdad de condiciones de toda persona extranjera. Recordemos que aunque somos un tercio de los habitantes de Zúrich, todavía no tenemos derecho a voto en la ciudad en la que vivimos, trabajamos y pagamos impuestos. El ABR me permite dar voz a este sector de población inmigrada. Todos los habitantes de Zúrich formamos parte de una sociedad plural y diversa en la que tenemos la responsabilidad de conseguir que todas las personas extranjeras residentes se sientan integradas e incluidas. Especialmente, y como miembro del ABR, quiero facilitar el entendimiento y la relación entre todos los agentes implicados para que, al fin y al cabo, vivamos con respeto e igualdad de condiciones.
