Zurich meets Hong Kong 2017

As part of "Zurich meets Hong Kong – A Festival of Two Cities", a festival hub was set up in the centrally located "Times Square" shopping mall, which was enthusiastically received by the Hong Kong population. There, the visitors were able to virtually fly over the city of Zurich; ETH Zurich demonstrated its latest research in the field of augmented reality and creativity, while the ZHAW used a flight simulator to show how augmented reality makes the control of aircraft easier and safer.
Music, dance and film played a prominent role. Every evening a musical performance took place, for example a telematic concert played synchronously in Zurich and Hong Kong by the ZHdK and the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. The film programme supervised by the International Short Film Festival Winterthur with a focus on the oeuvre of H.R. Giger met with great interest.
A high-ranking delegation from Zurich also travelled to Hong Kong with representatives from politics, science and business. Among other things, she participated in a conference on the future of energy and mobility in smart cities.
