The study was commissioned by KEK-CDC in August 2019 with the aim of obtaining an initial inventory of the external view of the city of Zurich. Based on literature and media analyses as well as expert interviews, it forms a shorter, scientific examination of the topic. The focus of the study is on local authorities, associations, interest groups and associations relevant to the city of Zurich, which are in regular contact with the city. A partial, selective image from the optics of this contact group is expected. The study investigates the following questions, among others:

What is the external perception of the city of Zurich? Who has what image of the city? Are there systematic differences in the external perception of the city? What are the possible reasons for the existing images of the city of Zurich?
